HEATS

The first category - GRO Mixed 12

Our first warriors to set the momentum for the day!

GRO Mixed Heats
Our paddlers have done very well, coming in first for the GRO Mix heats! The contenders for the heats were tough, where strong teams like Ironwill (Tampines Changkat), Dumplings @ Tampines North CSC and Team Kiyah-Splashhh fought against our PLK paddlers. But hard training had paid off, as our results had so clearly shown.

The GRO mixed crew had certainly lifted the morale of the paddlers, as they exchanged information on the water condition, lanes, and the overall water sense. Such exchange of information allow the fostering of teamwork and camaraderie, and it allows our paddlers to focus onto our common goal, to do the best we can.

Next category, our next 12 paddlers compete in the CSC Mixed!

As part of tradition, we will always hold a briefing prior to race. Once everyone is on the same page and affirmed on what to do and what not to do, we took our place in the boat and give it all we have!
CSC Mixed was a indeed a difficult battle. As Sam Lau and the other PLK paddlers described, "all boats were side by side at the initial starts but PLK paddlers managed to pull away from the rest during maintenance and sustained that efficiency and stroke rate, securing a first in the heats."

And finally, the last category for heats, our next 12 paddlers took their positions to battle out in the highly contended GRO Opens. This heats is not easy, as formidable teams (Trident, Reach and Punggol North CSC) took their lanes down with ease.
